Had to share this. Is she cute or what? (not that I am biased)

Monday, August 14

We went to a cook out at my grandparent's house yesterday. Heather was the center of attention. She was being a comedian and had everyone laughing at her. She had all of the older cousins playing with her and they thought she was just too cute. She spent most of the afternoon with my cousin Craig(who she called "Egg"). He is a senior in high school and I was amazed that he was so good with her. He even managed to teach Heather how to play baseball. She hit the ball almost everytime! Everyone was amazed.

Believe it or not, I don't have much to say. A rare occasion definitely!

The girls have appointments at Children's hospital on Thursday. I am pretty nervous about these.

Saturday I took Alison to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. It was pouring out, so the place was a madhouse. I felt myself getting ADD right when we walked in. Alison had fun, I got a headache. But at least she had fun..lol. Yesterday my SIL came by with my 2 nephews. The kids played all day and had a lot of fun. I didn;t get any pictures this time, but promise to next time.

That is it for my update. Keep your fingers crossed that Thursday's appointments go smoothly and that I get only good news!

I leave you with a video clip of Heather playing hopscotch at Alison's soccer practice.

Hopscotch

Thursday, April 20

Yesterday Bob took the day off from work. Alison is off all week for school break. So we headed to the farm with the girls. They had fun. Heather said hi to every animal. "Hi Sheep, Hi goat". She just loves any animal and is so gentle with them. I only took a few pictures because it was busy and the girls didnt stay still long enough to get pictures. So I could only snap a few while we were on the hay ride.

And one of Heather talking to the baby sheep

I have been a pretty boring mother this week. I had hoped to take the kids to do a lot of fun things during school break. But it hasn't happened. We have been doing small things and mostly just playing outside. Heather's belly hasnt been feeling great, so we have been taking it a little easier. I still have no clue what our plans are for today. Grocery store and I need to make a few appts, then maybe a playdate. Not really sure.

My eye laser surgery was cancelled for tomorrow. They called Monday to reschedule it. Now it is planned for next Tuesday afternoon. Fun, fun!

I wanted to share this video of Heather. Her new favorite thing to do is tell you" how old you, me" Translation: "Ask me how old I am". And she says "two" and shows 2 fingers. I couldnt get her to show me the 2 fingers in the video clip, but you can hear her.

How old are you, Heather?

Friday, April 7

Have you seen the new Shakira video, My Hips Dont Lie? If you have, you probably noticed they used my body for her body double. LOL. Okay, seriously though, no one should be able to move like that. Imagine how happy your man would be if you could move like that!

Sunday, April 2

Everyone here has been knocked down with the cold from hell. Heather has had it for over a week and is still not feeling any better. Alison is starting to perk back up and feeling better mostly. So of course I woke up yesterday feeling like I got run over by a Mac truck. Hopefully it will be gone very quickly.

It has been so warm out this weekend. We spent yesterday morning at a local fair. Alison had fun, but Heather wasnt feeling good and was cranky. I took her over to see the fire trucks while Alison and her dad were playing games. Heather sat in the fire truck and didn't want to get out. I had to take her out and she was yelling "my truck!" Which had the fire fighters laughing. So the police man said to her"you like that truck?" She put her hands on her hips and said"MINE!" Quite the attitude in that little body! He laughed and was showing her the sirens in the police car which she loved. After the fair, I took the girls to a small farm. Heather had to stop and say hello to every animal and had gibberish conversations with the baby sheep for over 5 minutes..lol. She was not happy when we had to leave, she is a farm girl at heart I think.

Now, I am going to pat myself on the back a little. I went shopping this weekend because I desperately needed clothes that fit. I have gone down a few pant sizes. It has taken me a long time, but I have finally started losing the weight again. So far I have lost 25 pounds in around 4 months. Not a great weight loss, but there at least. I had talked to the Dr last month about how the weight just will not come off. She said it is extremely hard to get weight off with diabetes and my pancreas levels being so "off". She wants to re-run my thyroid panel in a few months and see what my levels are at then.

And finally I will leave you with a video clip of Heather singing "If you're happy and you know it". My camera would only hold a 30 second clip because my memory card was full. You'll also notice Heather pause to point out a reflection on the ceiling that was later labeled a "Mamasie(monster)" by her..lol.

Happy and you know it

Tuesday, March 21

Alison's day at Children's went rather easily. We hit no traffic there or back. We only waited in the first waiting room for 40 minutes, which is nothing compared to the 2 hours last time. The allergist said that he sees no progress since last month from her new medicines. He said that he is disappointed, but some people just don't react to medicines. He wants to try a combo of a few newer ones. With some ugly side effects. If in 10 days they havent shown a difference, we go back. He also wants me to agree to let the ENT do the sinus surgery that I refused last time. So I need to schedule an appt to go over the risks/benefits. The Immunologist wants Alison to have a much needed sleep study. He said there is no way a child can breathe so bad in the day and be okay at night. This girl has NEVER slept through a night. In over 6 years. She takes up to 2 hours to fall asleep and then is up every few hours all night. Which leads to her being tired all day. Hopefully we can get it all figured out and get her to be a healthy little girl.

Heather learned a new trick. One that took 10 years off my life. I was cooking dinner and heard "Mommy, look me". Never a good thing to hear. I turned to see her sitting on the table very proud of herself for getting up there. Yikes! Heather also has a new phrase, "Way to go". Can you tell what her physical therapist says a lot to her? She has been walking around all week saying "way to go" to everyone!

Alison had dance and I tried to get a video clip. Sorry for the seperate videos, poor quality and the side ways one. Oops! The batteries kept dying and there was a little girl(sister is in Alison's class) who insists on dancing in front of me every week(you'll see her walking by!)
I promise to buy new batteries and get an actual clip next week that is long enough to see..lol.
