So worn out and going to complain! I have had one sick child vomiting off and on for a week now. One toddler who has decided 4 hours of sleep a night is fine with her(started by being woken up by her sick sister). This makes one exhausted, not very patient mother. Our heat has been broken for a week. We have had the repair man come out twice to "fix" it. It is still broken and now we wait for hime to have time to come a third time. My oldest is disappointed with me because her world has to revolve around her sisters sometimes. I hate it for her but can only do what I can do. Her sister is sick and I couldn't find her a ride to dance so she misses it for the second time this month. She missed having a friend over today for the early release. She tells me it's ok but sits on the couch in tears. Now all 3 will be dragged through traffic to the Dr so we can see what is going on. My husband is working all day today and late tonight. I know it will be another night of no sleep. I have been feeling a little sad that the surrogate pregnancy is almost over. I know it will be a little hard having it be done. I do not want the baby, it is more the fact that the past year and a half+ has revolved around this. I know when it ends I will be left feeling like what now. But the past week running around with my own kids and dealing with sickness I am ready to not have the pregnancy stress and symptoms on top of it all.

31 weeks

31 week shot (by Heather). I finally had my Ob visit. First was cancelled because of the blizzard. I moved it to the next week and we had another snow storm that day. Moved it to the next day and finally made it. He said everything looks great, blood pressure is good, weight is up about 10 lbs from the beginning. He plans to do another ultra sound around 36 weeks to estimate the baby's weight. We are getting the paper work finalized for the pre birth order(baby's birth certificate) this week and planning to tour the hospital next month sometime. I am starting to feel tired easier, the heart burn is brutal some days. Otherwise I feel the same as always. ;)

Someone asked me how my girls will feel when this baby doesn't come home with us. Honestly I am not sure. My older two know this isn't our baby at all, they know(and love) the parents and only ever refer to the baby when mentioning him in his house(what color is his room going to be, what will they name him?, etc). My littlest has no clue anything out of the ordinary is going on and has no idea a baby is in my belly. We arranged from the start to have my older girls come to the hospital to meet the little guy and see him with his parents. The social worker we met with told us this reassures the kids that the baby belongs to his parents and lets them feel involved and proud to have helped. I like to think we have handled this the "right" way and they are fully prepared. Our lives are the same daily now as they were before and we don't mention the baby often at all, I don't mention movements or pregnancy complaints around them. It is different than when it was their sibling coming and we talked about it to make it exciting. I think the hard part for all three will be me not being home. My girls are very(maybe too much so) attached to me. They don't like being away for even a day, so they will not be happy when I am MIA and at the hospital. I am hoping my mother can come stay here then and distract them.

NYC

I took my older girls and spent the weekend in NYC with baby's parents. They have been trying to get us to come for a while and insisted December was the perfect time. They took us to see the Lion King, which was amazing. We visited Central Park, Times Square- including Toys R Us & M&M World which were favorites of the girls, Rockefeller Center and the Museum of Natural History(Heather wanted to go because it is where they filmed Night at the Museum). We had a nice trip and even got to sleep in baby's room right before it will be converted into his nursery.

Central Park Zoo

Times Square(awful picture though!)

Notice the massive 26 week belly? I have my glucose test tomorrow and have a horrible feeling I may not pass. I am growing way too fast and am really tired after eating anything with too much sugar.

22 weeks

22 weeks 1 Day

I'm not quite sure how I feel about starting to show. I am not looking forward to the questions and having to explain. So far only about 10% of the people we have told have understood it and not questioned us about our ability to give up a baby(that I quickly explain isn't ours to keep). When I went into this I thought I would have no problem telling people because I felt(still do) that it is such a good thing that I assumed everyone would get that. My husband is quick to remind me it is a great thing and to stand tall and proud and not to feel like I can't tell people.

My girls are getting so big so fast. It is amazing to watch them grow. I love seeing them do new things but I wish time would slow down a little too. Alison turned 11 this month and is so mature and such a sweet person. She has made a lot of new friends and they are all so nice. Her dad even commented to me that the kids at this school seem much friendlier(and less spoiled) than at her old school. She seems so much happier here which is great. I honestly wasn't sure she would adjust and do okay with the move. Heather is thriving too. Her class is easy for her but her teacher is working on ways to keep her engaged and give her extra stimulation. Her teacher told us she is reading ahead, has the best spelling in the class and gets along with all of the kids. We are still struggling with her anxiety. She gets so anxious in social situations, around adults she doesn't know well and if things are different. She can't cope, can't talk and it is affecting her. She wanted so badly to play indoor soccer here. We signed her up and talked about it, she was ready to go. We got there and she panicked majorly and couldn't stay. She was so upset. I keep mentioning this to the pediatrician a few times a year and she always brushes it off. I think we are not doing Heather any favors anymore by looking away though and that it is time to figure out what can help. Sarah is growing up fast too. She mastered jumping out of her crib, is starting to talk so much and is so full of life and personality. She goes to playgroup and the parents there love her because she sings as loud as she can manage and is such a show off for everyone.

November!

I have reached the halfway point. I am starting to show. I still fit in my regular clothes but by the end of the day the button on my pants is starting to revolt. I think most people would just wonder what I have been eating to gain weight. But any day now there will be no denying there is a mini person growing in there. I have been having a few more braxton hicks contractions than I would like. I know I need to take it easy. I am on my feet and busy ALL the time. I hate sitting still for long and like being busy. Yesterday I felt awful from overdoing it and needed to spend the night on the couch. Today I feel better but learned a lesson to take it easier.

The baby's parents are trying to get us to come stay with them for a few days next month in NYC. I am not sure they realize what it will be like having all three of my kids in their house. LOL. Crash course on parenthood maybe?
