I took the girls to a farm to go strawberry picking yesterday. DH was working, so my brother came along with us. The kids loved it. Heather ate way too many strawberries. For every few she put in the container, she would eat one. The farm had a little petting zoo and a playground too. Lots of fun.
Have you ever had those days where you feel like hiding behind the sofa and hoping your children can't find you? I swear if I hear the name Mommy one more time today, I might run away from home. It has not stopped for one minute all day. "I need a drink, food, more drink, more food, cover me, my pants hurt,can I..., my sock itches, needa go potty, where's my..., I'm hung-wee again!." Lord help me, it is a good thing I have no liquor in the house.
I am making a memory book for Alison's teacher as a end of the year gift. I had each student write a letter to the teacher and also write about a special memory from this year.(Very cute so far!) So, I went to print the cover today. I am out of colored ink. I bundle up Miss Hungry, thirsty, needa go potty and we head off to Staples. They don't have our ink so then we head to trusty old Target. Get home, install the ink and I foolishly think it will be smooth printing from here on out. Ha! As I go to close the cover, I drop a teeny tiny Barbie plate into my printer. I can not for the life of me get it out(can't even see it). Yet it is making my printer not load paper. Lovely.
Wednesday we took the girls to the zoo in Boston. Alison had an orthodontist appointment in the morning(a whole 'nother post) and I made the executive decision to let her play hooky for the rest of the day.

The girls are wanting to attempt a sisterly sleepover tonight. Should be interesting since one of them sleeps in the dark with a fan for noise and the other sleeps with a nightlight in silence.
Sunday morning I took the girls to one of our favorite places to walk around. The old Wayside Inn area. First we went over and fed the ducks and stopped by the Old Candy Store. Then we headed over to see the grist mill. Heather was very nervous from the noise of the water fall and wanted me to carry her most of the time.
Then we walked around the woods and walked around the lake, which was quite a hike.(Not to mention I carried Heather while still not feeling good!)

Before getting ready to go, we walked up the street to the old "Mary had a Little Lamb" schoolhouse. Alison always loves to look at it.
Heather slept the ride home and once home we decided to walk down to the library since the weather was still beautiful.
I forgot to add that on the ride there, we pass the nursing home my grandmother was in before she passed away. Alison spotted it and told me she misses her. I told her it is very sad that we can't see her, but I explained how we will some day. She said "that is one good thing then." I continued to explain that she isn't sick any more and she is also once again with "grampy" and I'm sure they were so glad to be together again. Alison smiled and said" Then that is another really, really good thing. I want Grammy to be happy and with grampy because she really missed him.And at least we will all see each other again when we are done doing the things we are here to get done." Very deep for a 6 year old, I thought.
